Hilary has worked extensively in organisations with individuals as well as teams providing executive coaching, facilitation, mediation and ethics advocacy. She is a specialist in teamwork, strategy, adult learning, reflective practice and constructive dialogue, and has significant experience in building people’s capacity to reach their potential in today’s challenging workplace environments.
Background and Experience
Over the last 25 years Hilary has been a consultant employed to improve the social capital of organisations through Connected Leadership. These range across large corporations, Govt., Not-for-Profit and Education sectors. As one of the IECL’s Master Coaches she coaches into organisations and trains and facilitates the IECL accredited coach training program.
Hilary holds a PhD in critical social sciences with a speciality in narrative psychology. Until 2004 Hilary held senior academic roles at the University of Western Sydney, first in the School of Social Ecology and then the School of Psychology.
Hilary uses a dialogic approach that balances constructive challenge and support as the basis of learning. She has considerable experience working with a large spectrum of behavioural and leadership styles and is willing to challenge behaviours that discourage engagement and to use existing strengths to improve a leader’s capacity to help others succeed. She is particularly experienced at working with strategic leaders, behavioural issues, the move from subject-expert to leader and new leaders.
